A gentle reminder to stop forecasting failure before you've even tried
I keep grieving things that haven't happened yet.
Lately I’ve noticed that when I want something, I start focusing on the obstacles before I even plan the route.
This is the scarcity mindset. The fear of never-enough, not possible, not ever. It limits my imagination and blocks me from seeing possibilities.
It takes the pen out of my hand and starts writing a story about how I end up disappointed. The moment a desire begins to emerge, I start to grieve the experience of wanting and never having it.
And it’s not helpful.
When this happens, I have to reach down into the spiral and gently pull myself out. I have to remind myself that as long as I’m alive, another reality is possible.
All I have to do is take one step. One small step. And, while I’m at it, focus on how good it could be.
I wrote this message to myself today, as a reminder that what I give my energy to grows.
If I feed the beast of worry, it gets stronger. It overpowers me. As a person who wants the most out of this one precious life, I have to be diligent about not letting fear run the show.
I have to notice the unhelpful thoughts as they come, and redirect my mind towards a better feeling thought.
Sharing this reminder in case you’re in a season of doubting how powerful you are, and how much the Universe conspires in your favor.
Let’s not do that. Together. Okay?
Love you big.
Never give up,
- Jamila
